College of Agriculture &
Montana Agricultural Experiment Station

The College of Agriculture at Montana State University provides a unique blend of academic programs that build upon foundational courses in the biological and social sciences. Students branch out into more specialized programmatic areas through our excellent advising efforts. We challenge the student's intellectual capacity with integrative, contemporary issues that impact a complex and dynamic society, and start them working to find reasonable, science-based and economically viable solutions to agricultural and natural resource management activities. Experiential learning occurs in all majors through activities in the classroom, laboratory, field trips, internships, special projects, research experiences, and through the commitment of a highly regarded faculty and staff.

These same faculty are involved in cutting-edge research through their state and federal support from the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station. Nothing can compare to an opportunity to have a world class researchers involved in undergraduate and graduate education. Be the best by learning from the best! This generation of new knowledge and the creation of opportunities for students to become part of the total teaching and research fabric of Montana State University through the College of Agriculture is unlike any other intellectual engagement in the Pacific Northwest. Off-campus educational programs increase the capacity of youth and adult learners to make educated decisions on many important issues that directly influence their economic well-being and, in turn, economic development in their communities.

Our future is brightened through actively engaging students in academic programs with faculty and staff who generate superior knowledge, find technological solutions to increase Montana competitiveness, conserve our resources, and improve the quality of our life and environment. Additionally, our faculty add value to Montana's resources and fulfill our societal obligations to the region and nation. We welcome you to the future!

Our Mission:

The College of Agriculture and the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station generate and disseminate superior knowledge and technological solutions to increase the competitiveness of Montana's agricultural and natural resources, preserve environmental quality, and improve the quality of life for all our citizens.
