Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) Analytical Laboratory

Mission Statement

The mission of the AES Analytical Laboratory is to provide reliable, efficient analytical services to the Montana State University Agriculture Experiment Station, the public, farmers, ranchers, researchers and agri-businesses on nutritional and toxic substances in forage, animal feed, fertilizer, soil and water.

Certification Programs

The laboratory participates in several certification programs every year. Participation demonstrates laboratory proficiency in specified areas as described below:

• National Forage Testing Association (NFTA) – certification for forage analysis
• Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) – certification for commercial feed analysis
• Magruder – certification for commercial fertilizer analysis
• Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – certification for pesticide analysis
