The Central Ag Research Center at Moccasin will hold its annual field day will be Thursday June 19. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and tours at 9:30 a.m.

The research tours will feature annual and perennial forage species and varieties, pulse and oilseed species and varieties, fertilizer use on annual crops and perennial forages, said Dave Wichman, superintendent of the center.

Date of seeding trials for both oilseed crops and annual forages will be included in the tours.

"It will be interesting to see how the date of seeding interacted with cold conditions experienced through March and April and the near zero over-night temperatures in late April," he said.

Seed fields of Suneson camelina, Blaine Creek camelina and fall seeded Windham yellow field peas are available for viewing. Visitors can also see the results of using spring burning to renovate over grown caragana shelter belts.

Bozeman based experiment station scientist will participate in the presentations along Chengci Chen and Wichman. The event will proceed, rain or shine. Lunch is provided. The center is 2.5 miles west of Moccasin on U.S. Highway 87.
