2020 Annual Report
Hello, and welcome to the Montana State University College of Agriculture's Annual Impact Report for 2020!
None of us have been exempt from the many changes and challenges brought about by this year, and that includes each and every one of the faculty, staff and students in our college. It brings me such joy to present this report to our friends and stakeholders, because it shows that even in times of great uncertainty and even fear, incredible things can still be accomplished.
This year, both the College of Agriculture and MSU as whole once again set new records for research expenditures, and millions of those research dollars went to helping understand and fight COVID-19. We — with the critical support of donors and community members — assisted nearly 300 of our students with crucial scholarships that made very real impact. Many of our research, teaching and outreach practices pivoted to adapt to our new normal, including some of our favorite in-person events that became virtual ones: Celebrate Ag Weekend, summer field days at our research centers, graduation and convocation ceremonies.
But through all of the questions that 2020 has posed to us, the strength, determination and humanity of our agriculture community has remained steadfast and inspiring. I thank you all for taking the time to explore this report. We are proud to share it with you.
Wishing you all the best for a safe and healthy 2021. If you have any questions or suggestions for future annual impact reports, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Yours in Agriculture,
